Space Imaging Middle East (SIME) has recently strengthened its ties with UN-Habitat, the United Nations agency committed to working with communities around the world to improve living conditions of growing urban populations.
SIME made a donation to Habitat and the grant was announced during the Governing Council that took place in Nairobi between 16th and 20th of April 2007.
This relationship, which will provide Habitat with direct access to imagery of cities worldwide, was described as a way forward for national and local authorities in receiving ‘better information for better planning’ in urban development.
Mr. El Kadi, SIME Managing Director, commented: "This donation is consistent with our ongoing policy to increase awareness about the benefits of remote sensing and GIS applications”.
