Space Imaging Middle East (SIME) hosted the second Defence Technology & Management Course (DTMC) for the UAE Armed Forces, at its premises on September 21, 2006. The course was attended by 27 students from UAE Armed Forces, Air Force, Navy, Amiri Guard and SOC.

The course was aimed at supplementing the students’ Surveillance Systems studies, particularly the military applications of SIME’s remote sensing imaging products and the wide range of application of satellite imagery, especially for IKONOS.

The DTMC equipped the students with better understanding on what remote sensing capabilities are available here in the UAE, and more importantly the technology behind them. A wide range of questions were answered by the SIME experts at the end of the course session.

The DTMC was arranged by SIME in collaboration with Specialist Training from Australia (STA), which provides quality training and education solutions throughout the Gulf. Through its Australian and international partners, STA has access to a range of subject matter experts in civil and military related technologies, research, education and training.
